Stroll with Santa
We have got a great fundraising event coming up and want to tell you all about it!
We are going to be walking en-masse from The Fox and Hounds in Walton near Wetherby to The Bay Horse at Kirk Deighton! The idea is that people join us on our stroll and have a thoroughly enjoyable day.
Special Guests!
We will be helped along the way by some of Santa’s elves. There will also be a special guest appearance by a four legged
friend! He is on a day trip from Hope Pastures and we can’t wait to meet him for a stroll. There’s a possibility that Mr Clause might put in an appearance too!
Details of the day
- Meet at the Fox and Hounds in Walton at 10:30am on Saturday 30th November.
- Enjoy a freshly baked breakfast bap and a coffee before setting off on a lovely stroll, along traffic free paths, through the North Yorkshire countryside.
- Meet our four legged friend along the way!
- Arrive at the Bay Horse Inn in Kirk Deighton and enjoy a mulled wine, festive buffet and mince pies!
- Relax in the Bay Horse and enjoy live music and a chance to win a weekend away in our exciting raffle!
- We can provide transport back to the start in Walton or you can wander back along the path to enjoy more scenic views.

Why Join Us?
This fundraising event will support the work of Phoenix Health and Wellbeing and help us to continue to support clients like Anne. Read Anne’s storey:
“I was referred to Phoenix Health and Wellbeing for massage therapy by my GP. I have a genetic skin disorder called Darier’s disease which is where huge painful blisters form on your skin which can take up to six months to heal. I’ve had Darier’s since I was 19. I’m now 64. My physical health issues really get me down. I am permanently on morphine. All my nails and my teeth have been removed because the medication erodes them. At one time, I was spending up to 8 months out of the year in hospital.
Occasionally I get so low I get suicidal. Over the last 5 years I have had 4 suicide attempts. A lot of people with long term skin conditions struggle with their mental health. My GP thought massage therapy might help me to manage my suicidal tendencies.
Since I’ve been coming here I’ve had one minor break down and no suicidal thoughts. For me, to go 5 months without any suicidal thoughts is amazing! I come for Reiki and it completely relaxes me. I can just forget everything.
The therapies and the staff are really good. I’ve been to other places and it’s not the same. At Phoenix, the staff understand what you’re going through. Before we start the session, they always have a chat to me about what I want from the treatment. They listen to me.”
Hope to see you on the day!
